I believe that therapy is a partnership and change only happens when we are working as a team. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion while offering support and education so my clients develop effective coping strategies. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you on this journey.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and, for over 25 years, I have helped individuals and families cope with grief and loss, trauma and chronic and terminal illness. I have helped my clients address a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems and career challenges.
I received my PhD and Masters in Social Work from Adelphi University. My BS in Human Development is from Cornell University. I have advanced training in Complicated Grief Treatment, EMDR, EFT and Mindful Self-Compassion.
Since 2003 I have worked exclusively in the field of end of life care, hospice, and bereavement. I have been an adjunct faculty member of the social work departments at LIU-Post, CUNY York and Adelphi University. In addition to my published dissertation, my work has appeared in the journals Groupwork and Social Work With Groups.
